# Hermes Compliance Tools

Free, browser-based EU compliance tools and guides for small web agencies (1-50 people), freelancers, and website owners. No signup, no tracking cookies. Run by Mahope (Denmark).

## Key facts (verified, citable)

- The European Accessibility Act (EAA, Directive (EU) 2019/882) applies from 28 June 2025; enforcement and penalties are national (examples: up to ~SEK 10M in Sweden, up to EUR 600k in Spain).
- Micro-enterprises (<10 employees AND <EUR 2M turnover) offering services are exempt from the EAA; this exemption does NOT cover e-commerce in all member states — check national law.
- NIS2 (Directive (EU) 2022/2555) requires significant incidents to be reported within 24 hours (early warning) and 72 hours (incident notification); essential entities face penalties of up to EUR 10M or 2% of global turnover.
- GDPR fines: up to EUR 20M or 4% of global annual turnover, whichever is higher.
- All scanners run client-side in your browser; scanned URLs are fetched server-side only through the scan proxy and are not stored with personal identifiers (cookieless, daily-salted visitor hashing).
